Since its introduction in the early 2000s, the Scala programming language has evolved considerably. Experienced by Professor "Martin Odersky", this tool has convinced more than half a million users.
Used today by Swisscom, Twitter, Verizon, IBM and Netflix worldwide, EPFL is inaugurating the Scala Center, a center dedicated to the development of this free and open-source language.
In a world where hyper-connectivity and personalization are growing, all companies with huge amounts of data must be able to analyze and exploit them properly. Thanks to Scala, all programmers from all over the world will be able to contribute to its development.
Five partners support the EPFL initiative: IBM, Goldman Sachs, Nitro, Lightbend and Verizon.
