New offer
AI awareness for private schools in French-speaking Switzerland
A session to awaken critical thinking in students aged 12 to 18
Training tomorrow's digital citizens
Artificial intelligence is transforming our daily lives at lightning speed. It's making its way into smartphones, social networks, search engines, educational applications and even creative tools. But what do young people really know about this technology that influences their decisions, their consumption and sometimes their vision of the world?
At Darest, we believe it's essential to give teenagers the keys to understanding AI, rather than being subjected to it. That's why we've designed training and awareness-raising sessions on artificial intelligence for students aged 12 to 18, in private schools in French-speaking Switzerland.
A pedagogical, interactive intervention adapted to your school
This program has been designed to fit easily into the school curriculum, with links to a number of disciplines: science, computing, philosophy, digital citizenship, and so on. It is aimed at both curious classes and students who are already initiated.
Objectives :
- Popularize the key concepts of artificial intelligence in a fun, accessible way
- Understanding the impact of AI on society, the economy, education and individual freedoms
- Learning to interact with an AI using prompting techniques
- Develop a critical approach to digital tools
We're not here to give a lecture. We propose a participative educational experience, where each student is an active participant in his or her own learning.
A lively program, structured into five stages
1. Introduction and background
We begin with a group discussion on the representations of AI: what do students think? what are their preconceived ideas? what are their concrete examples? This introduction serves to break the ice and create an immediate bond.
2. Exploring key concepts
We explain how generative AIs like ChatGPT work, using simple diagrams, concrete examples and anecdotes. The concepts of neural networks, machine learning and LLMs (Large Language Models) become clear to everyone.
3. Interactive experiments
In small groups, students create prompts, test AIs and observe the results. It's also an opportunity to understand why certain answers are biased or inconsistent.
4. Ethical and social reflection
What is algorithmic bias? Can an AI be given free will ? What impact will this have on employment, privacy and social relations? Students debate, exchange and argue.
5. Tools and best practices
We end with a presentation of tools adapted to students to help them revise, create and learn with AI, while remaining critical. At the end, students are given a resource sheet.
Why offer this service at your facility?
Bringing artificial intelligence to school doesn't mean training programmers. It's about helping young people to :
- Understand the tools they already use (search engines, social networks, AI filters...)
- Take a step back from their digital habits
- Preparing for the professional world, where AI will be ubiquitous
- Develop a critical, creative and ethical mindset
Our approach is in line with the objectives of responsible digital education, in phase with the Swiss Federal Council's recommendations on artificial intelligence (2025).
