Since its creation in 2014, Rubrik has made innovations and is on the way to becoming a key player in data management. The Californian startup is banking on the multi-cluster approach.
An invigorated 2017
2017 was a year marked by fundraising, new clients, a constantly growing workforce and, above all, the rapid development of its offerings.
A new ambition
Rubrik sees its future as a data orchestrator in the age of the multicloud. Its CEO, Bipul Sinha, testified to this during the IT Press Tour:
"We now have more than 650 employees and employ between 40 and 45 people per month," explained the CEO. One trend in particular pleases him: "It is very exciting to see more and more demand from not only companies with an on-premise infrastructure, but also from companies leveraging Amazon and Microsoft's clouds. Our business is growing significantly."
Support for Google Cloud Platform
Rubrik positions itself as "the bridge between cloud and traditional infrastructures", the CEO pointed out. A strategy that involves partnerships with cloud on-premise solution providers, including Vmware or Pure Storage. On the public cloud provider side, Rubrik is collaborating with Microsoft and Amazon. And now also with Google. Since the 4.1 update of its platform, the start-up supports archiving, replication, search and data analysis features for Google Cloud Platform. Features already offered for AWS and Azure. Other new features in Rubrik version 4.1 include support for archiving on Amazon Glacier and support for Microsoft Azure Stack.
