According to an analysis by Universum, the next Swiss IT professionals have better salary expectations than students in other professional fields such as commerce and engineering.
In tune with reality
At the end of their academic careers, Swiss IT students expect to earn a flourishing income, because these future specialists believe that they will be highly coveted by Swiss companies. According to the study of 11,000 students at Universum, a Swedish consulting firm, their expected salaries would exceed those in business and engineering. It is also clear that mastering artificial intelligence technologies raises their salary expectations.
According to the average salaries for IT jobs published by the Office of Economics and Labour of the Canton of Zurich, their claims are not idealistic.
The top 3 targeted companies
In Universum's ranking of companies most targeted by IT students are Google, Microsoft and IBM in the top 3.
Working in Switzerland
Although Switzerland facesa shortage of IT specialists, the study indicates that the majority of students surveyed want to work in Switzerland. A third want job stability and only a quarter are interested in management positions.
